One of the most exciting and long-awaited fashion events of the season is upon us, which is none other than the spectacular New York Fashion Week!

NYC Fashion Week is undoubtedly one of the biggest bi-annual events where a multitude of designers display their collections in a series of presentations as well as on runway shows for the next fashion season.

It takes place twice a year, once in February to showcase the fall/winter collection, and once in September to exhibit the Spring/Summer collection.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), in partnership with IMG’s NWFW: The Shows, has released the preliminary official NYFW schedule for September 2022 which suggests six days of non-stop fashion galore with consecutive shows, screenings, and appointments.

When Is New York Fashion Week?

NYFW 2022 will take place from Friday, September 9 to Wednesday, September 14, and will feature a bevy of fashion shows, elaborate presentations, grand parties, and so much more. While Spring Studios continues to be the hub for the fashion week, NYFW shows will be held at multiple venues throughout New York City.

NYC Fashion Week will kick off with Proenza’s Schouler’s show at 4 p.m. on September 9 and wrap up on September 14 with Tom Ford’s show at 8 p.m.

The fashion week comprises two types of shows, industry-specific and open-to-the-public. You can grab the New York Fashion Week 2022 tickets on the official NYFW website.

New York Fashion Week February 22 – Tom Ford Backs Out Last Minute

New York Fashion Week

Fashion week NYC 2022 in February was a success, but a last-minute occurrence before the start of the week was indeed a surprising turn of events for everyone. Tom Ford backed out at the last minute and canceled his fall 2022 runway show.

The brand cited the ongoing COVID-19 and the spread of the Omicron variant in its factories in Italy as well as throughout Los Angeles as the main reason for backing out and canceling its New York Fashion Week show for February 2022.

2022 NYFW Schedule – September

So far, the NYFW schedule features over 100 designers who have confirmed their participation in this incredible fashion event. As always, there’ll be new collections from the usual big-timers like Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Altuzarra, and Prabal Gurung.

A trio of designers including Tommy Hilfiger, AREA, and PUMA will also show at NYFW 2022 after their hiatus from seasonal runway shows.

There will also be some new and emerging fashion designers who are joining the schedule for the first time such as Tia Adeola, ASHLYN, and One/Of by Patricia Voto.
